~은/는 - 명사

This is used with nouns to introduce a new or contrasting subject from the previous sentence.

  • The usage is different from Unit 1.

Examples

연필은 있어요. 지우개는 없어요.

~도 - 명사

This means 'also' or 'too' and is used in the middle of a sentence.

Examples

영호 씨는 태권도를 배워요. 마리아 씨도 태권도를 배워요.

민수 씨는 수영을 좋아해요. 민수 씨는 등산도 좋아해요.

Minsu likes swimming. Minsu also likes hiking.
